With a profound commitment to sustainability, Emiliana Lahrssen strives to innovate the fashion industry, working towards a larger positive impact on both the planet and its people. From sourcing to production, every step of the process has been carefully and strategically thought through to provide the highest quality fashion with the least environmental impact possible.

NATURAL FIBERS

All of our garments are made of 100% natural fibers. This ensures that if your garment were to ever be discarded into a landfill, it would eventually biodegrade over a small amount of time. For instance, 100% cotton takes 4-6 months to decompose, wool takes 3-4 months and linen 1-2 months. However, fabrics such as Polyester are essentially plastic, and not only do they not biodegrade, but they also release millions of tiny micro-plastic fibers into the water when washed.

ZERO PLASTIC

The fashion industry is responsible for approximately 342 million barrels of petroleum per year to produce plastic-based fibers such as polyester, acrylic, and nylon, not counting the single-use plastic used for packaging. From concept to production, alternatives for items such as hangtags, buttons, and packaging had to be found to limit the use of plastic.

LOCAL PRODUCTION

Every garment is manufactured locally here in NYC. This allows us to not only support local businesses but also ensures fair pay and a safe work environment for those making your clothing, as well as significantly reducing our carbon footprint. Being so close to the manufacturer has also allowed us to ensure the best quality in production from the moment the pattern is drafted to garment completion.
